Food Safety Policy

The Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2007 require food businesses to put in place food safety management procedures based on HACCP principals. In essence, businesses need to record and verify that they are completing food safety checks, in addition to the existing requirements. The systems need to be proportionate to the nature and size of the business. To help you meet this requirement, we can provide you with the right policy for you, either based on the 'Safer Food Better Business' pack provided by the Food Standards Agency, or a bespoke policy based upon your business.

Health and Safety Policy

The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 requires you to have a Health and safety policy statement in place. This sets out your policies on safety management, and who is responsable for what. It is an important document, because when things go wrong, it helps establish who is likely to be prosocuted. We can help you by ensuring your policy is legally compliant, but is structured to protect you, your company and team as much as possable.

Fire Risk Assessments

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) came into effect in October 2006. The FSO applies to all non-domestic premises in England and Wales. Under the FSO, the responsible person must carry out a fire safety risk assessment and implement and maintain a fire management plan. You will need an up to date fire risk assessment for any licence application, and your records will be checked during official audits. We can produce your fire risk assessment and management plan, in a format that works for your business.

Risk Assessments

By law, you must have assessed the risks from the hazards your business generates, and where you have more than 4 employees, they have to be written down. We can help you with drawing these assessments up, so they work practically with your operations. Using entirely 'generic' risk assessments will not generally be sufficient, so we help guide your team to properly assess the risks.

Accident Management

You need to have in place a system to record accidents, investigate where appropriate and report certain incidents officially. We can help establish an effective recording, investigation and reporting system to meet all of these requirements as simply as possible. We can also help with the official report and investigation where appropriate.

Training

We can offer a number of training courses in food safety, or health and safety. Our trainers are all qualified trainers, with experiance in training in this sector. We can deliver 'standard' courses, either accredited or self-certified, but can also put together a bespoke package for you, depending on your needs
